Custom Computer Consulting New System OS Back-up

New System OS Backup is a service that Custom Computer Consulting offers during a NEW system install of either a manufeature computer or custom built system we have assmbled. A 1:1 back-up image is performed prior to POST (Power On System Test) of the computer system. It allows the client to retain the original 1:1 back-up from the factor prior to any information being entered in the system.

In most cases manufactured computers come with some form of backup. It is either contained within a hidden partition of the hard drive or as an optional DVD you can purchased at the time of the order. Also, contained in separate folder within the drive can be series of utilities which are not included on either the recovery image located on the drive or the DVD disk. This folder contains drivers, utilities, trail software, and any software that you may have purchased from the computer manufacture.

Custom Computer Consulting recommends prior to start-up of the computer to make an exact 1:1 backup image of the complete system prior to the operating system becoming fully activated. No initialize setup perimeters and/or registration information is entered into the system. This is accomplished by only the allowing the computer to POST (or until the splash screen appears and the system boots-up on an alternate drive, such as a optical drive or a USB stick. This will allow you to do a complete recovery of the system as it arrived from the manufacture in the event it is necessary.

If the client prefers this service it can be done In-shop to avoid the extra time needed to perform the task. If CCC purchases the equipment for our client’s this can be done In-shop prior to installation.

Is it Worth It? What is it eactly? How Involved? & Why is it so important? How valuable is your time? It will depend on the Back-up service performed. If it is basic service back-up and is done In-shop there is no additional time needed. However, other back-up services may require additional setup if performed on-site. An allocation of 120 minutes is scheduled but it usual takes less time.
