CCC - Basic Recovery

Install OS
This method is less intrusive and less time consuming in recovering a down system. It restores the operating system back to a working environment, by simply overwriting the existing copy, replacing it with a working operating system, leaving the installed programs intact. In some circumstances some programs may not work until they are reinstalled. However, if the problem still continues it may be necessary to perform a clean installation of the operating system.

CCC - Standard Recovery

Install w/Fresh OS
This refers to a clean new re-installation of the windows operating system. This method is chosen when a user wishes to have a fresh start, as they did, when they first received the machine. It entitles the following:

CCC - Technician Recovery

Install w/Backup OS
It Includes re-installation of a fresh OS and a backup of the newly installed operating system. This options gives you both the security of having a fully working backup copy of your OS in the event of another software or hardware failure. It saves on down time and having to reinstall the operating system and all the needed device drivers.

CCC - Advance Recovery

Install OS, w/Programs
This feature includes the re-installation of a Fresh OS with additional programs you wished to have installed. This includes all peripherals drivers along with their software and other programs. Custom Computer Consulting will compile a list of all installed programs along with serial number and unlock codes as well as other description we deem important to the installation of the program for the customer.

CCC - Extra Recovery

Install OS, w/Programs & Back-up
The Extra Recovery option includes a Fresh OS install with program application followed by a full backup of either the newly installed operating system or with the added programs. In either case it gives he security of having a full working copy in the event of another software or hardware failure.

 

CCC - Storage Options

Optional Backup methods include

**Note: If you routinely install programs on your system the back-up w/ programs may not be of benefit to you as much as retaining the backup of the original main operating system. To retain an updated backup copy either an incremental or manual backup scheduled must be done to detect any changes in the system since the last update. The alternative method is to backup only those created by the application itself and any important files to alternate backup location. In the event recovery is needed simply restore the copy and replace those files on your drive to the ones who have retained a copy.

ADVANTAGE

Typically, to recovery an operating system it takes roughly 40 minutes or less. However, this does depend on various variables such as the processor speed, the compression method, if any was used, the media source where the image is being stored, and the type of connection being used to recovery the image back to the computer If requested by the customer, prior to re-installation of the operating system Custom Computer Consulting will attempt to recovery as much data as possible. We will then inform you have our results. We cannot guarantee it integrity it will depend. We suggest that prior to any procedure that you backup any important data you may have on your computer. If you are not able to do so, please inform Custom Computer Consulting and we’ll attempt to recovery it.

Other Recovery Options

These options along with other possible scenario will be discussed with our client’s prior to this service being performed. All replaced drives whether HD or SDD, consult the HD/SDDMonitoring.

A final POST will be performed where by the computer will be powered up to perform a self test to assure both hard and software are functioning.

CCC - 30-Day Recovery Image Retention
Any FRESH or REINSTALL of a operating system being service by CCC we will retrain for 30-days from installation a 1:1 copy of our Client's computer. This includes as well any new computer system that are sold by us, either manufactured or custom built by CCC. This will provide an emergency backup in the event the computer should fail within the 30-day period. It will also provide our client's to obtain a recovery image for us, if so desired.

Recovery Image Storage
The client will have the options in how the image is to be stored. Most client's choose to either use a optical disk or a USB flash drive while others may prefer to use an external drive. You may wish also to store the image off-site, such as a type of Cloud Service. CCC recommends a combination method to assure a redundancy in storage in the event a storage drive becomes corrupted. We DO NOT advise our client's to store any recovery image on the same drive that contains the operating system.

CCC - Backup & Recovery Software
All Images are created using the latest Paragon software. A bootable DISC or USB drive will allow the recovery of the image. A free copy of Paragon’s Rescue kit can be obtained from the manufacture's website. It supports Windows 2000/Vista/XP/7/8/8.1.

Other FREE & PAID backup and recovery software include: Clonezilla (clonezillia.org), Macrium Reflect (macrium.com), Drive Image XML (runtime.org), and Paragon Back & Recovery (x86/x64).

NOTE: It is important to retain the original applications used to create the back-up image. Companies will provide software upgrades periodically which are supposedly backward compatible but it is not always true. A service charge for this service will be applied.

Regarding Data Loss
There are two factor associated with drive failure. If it is not mechanical it is most likely an issue with it files system (or logical errors) that is preventing you from accessing your files. In most cases files can be recovered unless the drive has suffered a serious mechanical failure, making the drive inaccessible. If it is a mechanical failure it will require a higher level of repair that is ONLY offered by specialize recovery service. Custom Computer Consulting will determine the problem and discuss with our client’s the options available for recovery of any important files prior to a FRESH OS install.

CCC - Service Time
Service Time will vary. It will depend on type of installation and if any recovery service is performed prior to installation of the operating system or post installation.
