

OLDER & OUTDATED COMPUTERS
For clients with older system that no longer support the older operating system or are unable to handle the new operating systems there is possible alternative to keep your computer up and running for a longer time. This is accomplished by reverting to a Linux operating system. It is a different type of operating system but does not require as much resource as the newer Microsoft and Mac (IOS) operating systems..
Windows XP Users
For those familiar with the Windows XP OS, layout and functionality, there are three that fit the build. Zorin OS, LXLE, Linuxmint, Cinnamon and Ubuntu. Puppy Linux is a free operating system. However it is not as user friendly.
Ubuntu is the most widely known code and is the most popular. The second most popular Linux code is Linux Mint. It based on Ubuntu code. Their interfaces and default applications are different. Linux Mint is more user friendly and it is a more open to proprietary software being pre-installed. Ubuntu offers more advanced installation options, including an easy install for dual booting on a Windows PC.

CCC can assist our client's to determine whether or not it can be done. It will depend on your computer’s hardware. It may even be necessary to perform a test installation to confirm the feasibility factor.
Important Reminder
Remember there is a learning curve to any new operating system but for many that simply wish to use the older computer for e-mail, general web browsing, and the occasional video streaming it will serve its purpose.
CCC - Service Time
The average service time is between 90/120 minutes and can increase depending on what needs to been done to the machine. An initial evaluation will determine a more precise time as this will depend on what the Client may wish us to do with the computer. This may include: Transfer of data, setup of various peripherals, & perform any routine updates.
