Fine Tuning ISP Wi-Fi Routers
New or Preexisting Wi-Fi Routers
As a customer of an ISP service provider they are usually two options available to you to get internet into your home or business. You may choose to install it yourself using a self-installation kit, which in itself come become a problematic itself. The other is method is you hire your ISP provider to install the service. Unfortunately, many ISP Professional installers leave their customer’s overwhelmed and confused as they are only responsible for installing the modem, coaxial cable, and drivers’ necessary for computers to connect to the internet. They have little time to explain how to properly use your Wi-Fi router and how to gain access to the internet, leaving in some cases with only one or two computer and/or devices properly hooked up.

How To properly connect to the Internet
(Explanation how to access the internet using your Wi-Fi router as in most cases they have preconfigure a computer or device with little, if any explanation in how it was done.)
Improperly configuration of E-mail
(It is standard for installer to configure the e-mail service provided by their company. The problem arises when different types of e-mail client software and e-mail service providers are used. Due to their unfamiliarity of these e-mail program and the necessary information to configure them, such as the server address and the security features needed to accept inbound and outbound e-mail they end up unable to properly setup your e-mail.)
Security features not implemented properly
(They will use the Wi-Fi Router’s default security values which may or may not be implemented. If security feature are implement they will use default values associated with the type of security protocol, its passphrase (key), used to gain access to the internet, and the SSID used to identify your Wi-Fi router never informing the customer how to identify their network device and how to gain access to the internet by other computer and devices not yet set-up. This information is usually on label located on the modem or router as it provides access without the need of manual. CCC considers this a security brinch and should be changed immediately to avoid any unauthorized access to your internet or any other computer and devices that may be connected to your local area network.
Some, are unware of all security features available, may want higher security protocol, and may wish to have their Wi-Fi router’s identity HIDDEN, so other computers, and devices cannot see them, increasing security to their network.)
CCC – Q&A Session
Due to service level provided and possible time constraints they have little time to deal with explanation in e-mail set-ups, security
protocols, and connection issues. Their sole purpose is to get the Wi-Fi router installed and make sure you can connect to the
internet with at least one computer and/or device. They have little time for QA leaving more questions than answers. The problem further exacerbated when the customer attempts to get support for a problem and ISP provider tells them to contact the manufacture of the device for their support even though you are paying a rental fee on their network device (Wi-Fi Wireless Router). To avoid these rental fees Custom Computer Consulting can install both an Internet Modem (approved by the ISP) and a wired or
Wireless network device which will save you over a period of time the monthly rental fee. (An example Time Warner chargers for an Internet Modem $8.00 or $15.99 for a Home Wi-Fi and Internet Modem Combine). The other important factor is the fact YOU OWN IT!
What every the situation may be the customer is left confused in what has been installed and is unsure to the basic operation of the device. Custom Computer Consulting will explain in simple terms the basic function of your broadband or wireless router. CCC will further check to assure that all basic functionality and all necessary security features have been properly implemented .
ISP Self-Install Internet Kit
The Kits can be ordered from your cable providers and mailed to you. You must already have a standard cable service installed in
your home or business. The kits contain all the necessary equipment needed to have internet access. If you have already ordered the installation kits, and need either help with installation or adding a network (router) that would allow other devices to have internet access simultaneously, Custom Computer Consulting can assist you in getting your internet and/or network needs up and running.

devices. Even though it is always preferable to install a network system from group up we will work with those network devices
