What is an ISP?  It is an acronym for Internet Service Providers.  It is a company that provides access to the internet for both home and business.  The type of internet connection protocol used to access these services can range for analog systems to digital connection.

Internet Connection Protocols:

Analog: Dial-Up Internet Access (2400bps to 56Kbps)

DSL – Digital Subscriber Line (referred to always ON)

Cable – Broadband Internet Connection (512 kbps – 100 Mbps) (Uses a cable modem design to operate through cable TV lines) ISDN: Integrated Services Digital Network (64 Kbps to 128kbps)
Wireless Communication (use of ground base radio waves to transmit data) (IoS) - Internet over Satellite (1.5Mbps - 12Mbps) (use of high orbiting satellites)

You may be confused in what type of service are available by your local ISP (Internet Service Provider). They can include to choose (such as service packages, speed, and prices).  Unsure what ISP service is available in your area?  What, if any of the packages are available, and what does it all mean.  What speed do I choose to fit my needs? What are the difference between all these types of connection protocols?  These are only some of the basic questions that you may encounter choosing a provider.

  • The installation and Set-up of any necessary hardware or software to establish a connection to the internet
  • Installing your own approved internet modem, to avoid lease charges
  • Installing your own wireless service to avoid the additional monthly charge
  • Assist in creating your own LAN (local area network) to allow more than one computer or smart device to have internet access.  To avoid monthly lease chargers by your ISP.
  • Choosing the appropriate network whether it is Wired and/or Wireless

**Note: Should you choose to have your local ISP install your service many times there are problems that arise during installation which many field technicians do not brother checking.  This can range in accessing your system to the perimeters that need to be set to accommodate your specific needs.  CCC can assist you in fine tuning your internet service and other devices that you require connection to the internet.
