Internet Providers are increasing their cost to their customers for leasing of their broadband modems. Its become more feasible for the customer to purchase their own modem, since many providers generally do not replace the modem. Unless by chance the modem self-destructs at NO FAULT of the customer, or should the customer upgrade to a higher broadband service requiring a newer modem. The promise of support is LIMITED to only the MODEM nothing connected to it. This includes any computer, smart device, peripherals, or network device (i.e. router, switch, and etc.) connected to the modem.

An example:
TWC - The standard lease for a internet modem cost you $10.00 a month. This offers customers 24/7 support, free trouble calls, modem replacement and any future upgrades. If you choose to have TWC Home WiFi Service it will cost you an addition $4.99. For a final cost of $14.99 a month.

CUSTOMERS OPTION
The customer has an option to purchase their own internet modem from a local retail store ,or by other means, but we can’t be responsible for any compatibility issues should you purchase a incorrect modem. In most cases your ISP (Internet Service Providers) will have list of approved internet modems. For those customer that may have an eMTA modem (embedded multimedia terminal adapter) which combines the functionality of a (DOCSIS) cable modem and phone adapter in one device, CCC can accommodate it by adopting it to the modem..

IMPORTANT REMINDER
It is important to remember to always return the lease modem to your ISP provide for credit. Failure to return the modem and power cord may result in additional equipment chargers and continuing monthly Internet Modem Lease chargers. If you have Home or Business Phone Service you will still need to keep the eMTA (embedded multimedia terminal adapter). Do NOT R emove it. Keep it connected to your phone line.

All internet providers have policies related to the usage of internet modems. It will depend on who you have chosen to be your provider. It is important to consult those services policies to help you determine the appropriate service and provider.

Factors that may effect your decision include: Cost, Speed, and only internet provider in the area. Some may even have to choose satellite service for their internet provider if speed and lack of analog service is not available in the area. (Exede Internet, HughesNet, Dishnet, and Starband)

Note: FCC rules on new standards in what is considered broadband internet. A minimum of 25Mbps download and 3Mbps is required compared to the old 4Mbps download and 1Mpbs upload speed.

CCC - Modem Installation Service Includes:

	Purchase of the new modem (customer has the option to purchase itself, if they desire). In some case it may be provided by the ISP, at no additional cost.
	The Installation & Setup of the modem to either a computer or network device.
	If necessary contacting the ISP Agent for activation and provide the Cable Modem ID (MAC address)
	Verify it has successfully been installed on the computer or network device such as a router.
	If other modems are installed accommodate the other devices.

Advantages

	Get the latest technology available
	Boost you connection speed as it replaces in most cases an older outdated modem.

Disadvantages

	You are responsible for your modem.
	Planning on disconnect from service in less than a year.
	It won’t pay you if the cost of modem is already included in the price of the internet
	Most DSL services charge for the modem & FIOS includes it with their service.

Note: This service involves ONLY the connecting of a computer or network device (such as a wireless router. Anything behind the events either a network service or internet service.

CCC - Network Service (Wi-Fi / Wired)
For services related to Wifi which is already in service (refer to Fine/Tune ISP Wi-Fi Install) If you wish to connect additional computers, smart devices, peripheral, or network device Custom Computer Consulting offers services to help you create your own local area network that can connect to the internet. Refer to Network (Wi-Fi) or Network Wired section of the website. This will bypass the monthly lease of a router and provide on-site support and setup of your network where you will own YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT and can upgrade at anytime to latest technology to support your new gadgets.

CCC - Service Time
This type of service we schedule an hour but in most cases it takes less then an hour to perform. The service charge does not include the internet modem or any other parts you may need during installation, such as splitters, and pigtails.. The price range is 50 to 150.00 depending on the type of modem the client chooses.
